LG Electronics has announced its most successful second-quarter financial results to date, fueled by a high demand for its home appliances, vehicle parts, and HVAC systems. The company’s preliminary operating profit soared to 1.58 trillion won ($1.04 billion), marking a 146.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Revenue also saw a significant rise, climbing 14.9% to reach 23.83 trillion won, exceeding market forecasts.
Throughout the first half of the year, LG achieved record-breaking figures with 47.56 trillion won in revenue and 3.25 trillion won in operating profit. This impressive performance was attributed to increased sales in key sectors, enhanced cost efficiency, growth in subscription services, expansion of its webOS platform, and a boost in online sales activity.
Central to LG’s growth were its home appliance, vehicle solutions, and HVAC divisions. The company experienced heightened demand for premium home appliances, automotive infotainment systems, and cooling solutions, especially in Europe, which faced recent heatwaves. These factors significantly contributed to LG’s strong financial results.
In addition to its current successes, LG is focusing on future growth by investing in innovative areas such as AI data center cooling technologies and advanced robotics components. These investments reflect the company’s commitment to sustaining its upward trajectory and exploring new opportunities in emerging markets.
